Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022 and final results
The final race of the season was another easy victory for Verstappen. Leclerc finished second ahead of Pérez and clinched second place in the drivers' championship. This had been a season that had promised much... Would Mercedes be able to bounce back from a bad start and challenge for the championships? Would a strong start for Ferrari deliver a much hoped for championship? In the end Red Bull proved too strong and Ferrari, Red Bull's only real challenger this year, faltered and the season drifted to an inevitable double championship for Red Bull.
In RealityF1, the 2022 RealityF1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was a three way tie between Lord Flash-heart, MumSR and pecciolif1. The team to have for this race was Leclerc, Verstappen, Alfa Romeo and Alfa Romeo.
The 2022 RealityF1 Championship was won by Flying Scotsman, congratulations Flying Scotsman you become the 22nd RealityF1 Champion! Cake and Keith both shared second place with Chuck Berry just behind. PKMaxi2022 was the top ranked rookie player (someone playing RealityF1 for the first time) in 23rd.
In the league competition, Sad Cheap Bankers took the top spot from NESTF1 in the final race of the season, what late drama? Sad Cheap Bankers take their first league win after ten seasons.
In the country league competition it was Finland who took victory from Portugal. Portugal moved up to second in the final race, pushing the United States into third. Finland continue their run of not being outside of the top three since 2011.
As the season has now ended I have updated the player rankings (a leaderboard of all the players who've contested a RealityF1 season since the game started in 2001). The top ranking player is now Keith, ahead of Gary, pecciolif1 and Flying Scotsman.
As usual, I'm keen to hear any feedback you may have on the game so I can continue to improve it so please email me your views and suggestions for the future.
The site will re-open on Monday and, although you won't be able to create a team for the new season yet, you will still be able to update your profile and account details if you wish (should you change email addresses etc).
RealityF1 will return for the 2023 season. The provisional date for the first race is the 5th March 2023. A month or so before the first race I'll email you to let you know that you can create your team for the coming season.
