Reality F1 - Fantasy F1 competition

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2017 and final results

Abu Dhabi was, let's face it, not a classic race by any stretch of the imagination. Bottas took pole and held off Hamilton during the race and Vettel came home third. It was a dominant result for Mercedes to end a season that initially promised a tight competition between the Ferrari of Vettel and the Mercedes of Hamilton but ultimately resulted in Hamilton and Mercedes taking both championships in some style.

In RealityF1, the RF1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was won by Hatch, the team to have for this race was Bottas, Hartley, Ferrari and Renault.

The 2017 RealityF1 Championship was won by Adam34 who took the lead at the Austrian Grand Prix and only once moved off the top spot for the remainder of the season. Mpenrod was second and there was a four-way tie for third. Adam34 was playing his first season so is also the top ranked rookie (someone playing RealityF1 for the first time). Congratulations Adam34, you become the seventeenth RealityF1 Champion!

In the league competition, The SHARP League took the top spot in their first season of competition.

In the country league competition it was the United States who took victory ahead of Ireland and Finland. The United States win the country league for the second year in a row and Finland carry on their impressive run having not been outside of the top three since 2011.

As the season has now ended I have updated the player rankings (a leaderboard of all the players who've contested a RealityF1 season since the game started in 2001). The top ranking player in RealityF1 is Gary and Keith, winner in 2016, drops to second.

As usual, I'm keen to hear any feedback you may have on the game so I can continue to improve it so please email me your views and suggestions for the future.

The site will re-open on Monday and, although you won't be able to create a team for the new season yet, you will still be able to update your profile and account details if you wish (should you change email addresses etc).

RealityF1 will return for the 2018 season. The provisional date for the first race is the 25th March 2018. Approximately a month or so before the first race I'll email you to let you know that you can create your team for the coming season.

It only remains for me to thank you for playing RealityF1, I look forward to losing to you again in 2018.
