Reality F1 - Fantasy F1 competition

Welcome to Reality F1 2012

Welcome to Reality F1 for the 2012 F1 season!

Reality F1 has undergone a complete re-write since the end of the 2011 season and, based on player feedback, returns as a better competition. We've still got the same great team structure (two drivers and two cars) as players have found it easy to set up but difficult to master.

Arguably the biggest change in 2012 is that players can now run a career over many seasons (rather than having to re-join each year) and those of you that have played in previous years will find that we've already worked out your career statistics and given you a ranking out of all the players who have played Reality F1 since 2001 (how is the ranking calculated). If you've played Reality F1 before then you just need to reactivate your account and create your new team for 2012.

The scoring system remains the same as previous seasons with the exception that we no longer award points for cost cutting measures. The feedback was that this was unpopular and that players wanted to have a straight, no-nonsense competition with a fixed budget and the winner being the player that created the best team from that budget (and changed it at the right times during the season).

One other change for returning players is that if you've run a mini-league in the past you will be able to automatically run them again without having to set them up from scratch. You can pre-approve other Reality F1 players to join the new league if they were a member of it in previous seasons. You can also remove people if you want. If you were a member of a league then you can automatically join if the league runs again this season (assuming the owner doesn't exclude you) or opt out if you'd prefer.

The other big change is that the site has a great new look (well, I think so), I hope you like it.

As I've re-written the game completely there are few things I've not had time to complete yet. I hope to have most of these done in time for the first race of the season (or very soon after). You can look forward to:

  • Graphing of results
  • Commenting on a "league wall"
  • Auto-complete on the player finder

I've also a few more new features to add as the season progresses.

I really hope you like the new Reality F1 and if you've any suggestions then please let me know.

Game on!
