Hungarian Grand Prix 2022 results
George Russell secured the first pole of his F1 career in impressive fashion at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He then led the race whilst being shadowed by the two Ferraris. Verstappen was progressing up the field from tenth and an early stop caused Leclerc to pit earlier than planned to cover off the Red Bull driver. Russell's tyres started to fade during the middle stint and a questionable strategy call from Ferrari saw Leclerc pit for hard tyres. This played into Verstappen's hands and he took the lead. Sainz then chased Russell until his tyres began to go off but it was Hamilton who then surged through the field on soft tyres, passing both Sainz and then Russell to take second.
