British Grand Prix 2020 results
The British Grand Prix began with drama as Hulkenberg, standing in for PĂ©rez, was unable to take the start. Then followed safety cars for an accident between Magnussen and Albon, and then later, a crash for Kvyat. This saw many of the front runners pit a little earlier than planned. The race then became a bit of a progression at the front as Hamilton led the way with Bottas usually within 1.5s.
However, with two laps to go Bottas' front-right tyre failed leaving him to drive most of the lap slowly in order to reach the pits. This dropped him from second to out of the points. On the next lap Hamilton suffered a similar failure leaving him half a lap to go. Verstappen had pitted after Bottas' incident in order to go for the fastest lap, he now began chasing down Hamilton. Hamilton struggled to steer his car around the lap as Verstappen closed in but was just able to cross the line and take a dramatic win.
A strong weekend for Hamilton and Verstappen saw a three-way tie for the Reality F1 British Grand Prix. The team to have was Hamilton, Russell, Red Bull Racing and Williams.
In the 2020 RealityF1 Championship it's a four-way tie for the lead.
In the league competition, NESTF1 move to the top. Finland are in first place in the country league competition.
The site will re-open for team changes tomorrow (Monday). The fifth race of the season, the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix (also at Silverstone), is on 9th August.
