Welcome to Reality F1 2014
Reality F1, the free Fantasy Formula 1 competition, returns for the 2014 season!
2014 is shaping up to be a very interesting season indeed. There's an entirely new power train and the rules have been changed to remove much of the performance advantage from clever use of the air coming from the car's exhaust. The cars will now use 1.6 litre V6 turbo engines instead of the 2.4 litre V8 normally aspirated units. It seems likely that we'll see more failures as the teams struggle to get the best out of these new power trains and hopefully a lot more unpredictability in the racing.
Perhaps the biggest change in Reality F1 is that I've increased the number of free team changes from two to three for this season. This was a request coming directly from players at the end of last season. With many of the real F1 teams entering the 2014 season having done less testing than they'd hoped; being able to change your teams more times during the season seems a good idea.
At the time of writing, the real F1 championship will award double points at the last race of the season. Reality F1 will do the same. Many fans hope the idea is scrapped before very long and, if it is, then we'll scrap it too.
I introduced a new competition for rookies in 2013 and will be running this again this year. The top rookie is marked with an icon on the Championship results page and their profile page lists if they have won the award.
I will be awarding "League Achievements" again this year. Last year no single league managed to win all the possible league achievements (including the hidden ones) but perhaps that will change this year?
I've kept the budget for teams at £70M, please see the rules and prices.
The deadline for team entries (or changes to team components for the coming race) is 12 midnight GMT on the FRIDAY before a race. In order to be eligible to score points in all 19 rounds of the 2014 season you will need to register a team before 12 midnight GMT on the 14th March 2014. You can join after this date but won't score points for missed races.
If you played last season then you just need to log in and you can create your new team. If you've not played before then you'll need to sign up.
I really hope you like the new Reality F1 and if you've any suggestions then please let me know.
