Australian Grand Prix 2013 results
Kimi Räikkönen took a fantastic victory at the season opening event in Australia. Räikkönen managed his pace and tyres throughout and, with the new Lotus seemingly quite gentle on its tyres, he was able to take the lead through one less pit stop than the other front runners. Alonso move up from his fifth place grid slot to finish second and pole sitter, Vettel, dropped back to third. The performance of the Red Bull seemed to fall away during the race compared to their dominant showing in qualifying.
Adrian Sutil also had an excellent race having been out of the sport for a year. He led the race twice and it was only high tyre wear on his last stint (whilst on the super soft compound tyre) that robbed him of a higher finish. He ended up seventh but ahead of his team mate.
Kimi's impressive performance along with solid results from Jules Bianchi and Caterham resulted in Alex Gavilanes winning the Reality F1 Australian Grand Prix. As this is the first race of the season the results for the Australian Grand Prix are also the current championship standings.
As the season is now underway you can see the team components of other players and also see a breakdown of your own scores. We have also generated your predicted world rank following this event. However, you now only have two free team changes for the remainder of the season. You can make as many changes you want but, after your two free changes, 50 championship points will be deducted for any further changes. Remember that, starting this season, the team changes will only be counted when used in a race so you can change your team as much as you like between races.
The site will re-open for team changes tomorrow (Monday). The second race of the season, Malaysia, is next weekend.
