Rosberg on pole for the Chinese Grand Prix
Nico Rosberg takes his maiden pole for the Chinese Grand Prix.
Rosberg did just one flying lap during Q3 to set a lap time that the other drivers couldn't match. Hamilton was second fastest but drops to seventh on the grid following a five place penalty for a gearbox change. This promotes Michael Schumacher to second creating an all Mercedes front row with Kobayashi in third.
Vettel and Massa were two top drivers who failed to reach the final qualifying session.
