Reality F1 - Fantasy F1 competition

Brazilian Grand Prix 2013 and final results

As always, the Brazilian Grand Prix was an excellent race and a fitting end of the season. The race was won by Vettel who became the first driver in history to win nine races in a row within a single season. It was also fitting that, in his last Grand Prix, Mark Webber was on the podium and the final step was taken by Alonso.

In Reality F1, the Brazilian Grand Prix was won by ChapmanI. ChapmanI's performance in this race was, in no small part, due to a team containing Red Bull Racing and Perez; the latter storming through from 19th to finish sixth.

The Reality F1 Championship was won by Batez who has led the championship since the Italian Grand Prix. Second place was a three-way tie between nrparmar, pecciolif1 and top ranking rookie Talha. In the final race devos t, a consistent challenger up until this point, fell away from second due to picking the wrong strategy. So, congratulations Batez, you become the thirteenth Reality F1 Champion!

In the league competition, The Robbins Family held on to the lead and took the title for the second time in the Reality F1 history - this basically means they're Reality F1 royalty now as no other league has won the championship twice!

It was a dramatic end to the country league competition with Denmark snatching victory from Finland in the final race. This is the second year in a row that Finland have finished second and also the second year in a row that Portugal have finished third.

As the season has now ended I have updated the player rankings (a leaderboard of all the players who've contested a Reality F1 season since the game started in 2001). The top ranking player in Reality F1 is Mark who becomes the first Reality F1 player to defend the top spot in the world rankings. Excellent work!

As usual, I'm keen to hear any feedback you may have on the game so I can continue to improve it. I've put together a survey to collect your views and suggestions and if you could complete this short online survey I'd really appreciate it.

During the 'closed season' I'll continue blogging and tweeting F1 news. The site will re-open on Monday and, although you won't be able to create a team for the new season yet, you will still be able to update your profile and account details if you wish (should you change email addresses etc).

Reality F1 will return for the 2014 season. The provisional date for the first race is the 16th March 2014. Approximately a month or so before the first race I'll email you to let you know that you can create your team for the coming season. It should be a really exciting season as the cars will be using new V6 turbo engines (as opposed to V8 normally-aspirated engines) and any shake-up in the rules often results in an exciting season.

It only remains for me to thank you for playing Reality F1, I look forward to playing against you again in 2014.
