Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2016 and final results
Abu Dhabi was another dominant performance by Lewis Hamilton as he did all he could to win the 2016 Championship. However, despite the race victory, it was Rosberg who clinched the title as he finished second in the race and won the championship by five points. Vettel was third in the race.
In Reality F1, the RF1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was won by MumSR, the team to have for this race was Verstappen, Ocon, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing.
The 2016 Reality F1 Championship was won by ReDGryffyN who took the lead mid-season and defended it successfully for the remaining races. Slate was second and AustinRover in third. The highest ranked rookie (someone playing Reality F1 for the first time) was JohnMc in 32nd. Congratulations ReDGryffyN, you become the sixteenth Reality F1 Champion!
In the league competition, NESTF1 took the top spot and successfully defended the crown they won in 2015, very well played!
In the country league competition it was the United States who took victory ahead of Australia and Finland. Finland carry on their impressive run having not been outside of the top three since 2011.
As the season has now ended I have updated the player rankings (a leaderboard of all the players who've contested a Reality F1 season since the game started in 2001). The top ranking player in Reality F1 is Keith, the first player in RF1 history to defend the top spot, and ABrimberry moves up four places to second.
As usual, I'm keen to hear any feedback you may have on the game so I can continue to improve it. In the next week or so I'll be creating a survey and collecting your views and suggestions for the future.
The site will re-open on Monday and, although you won't be able to create a team for the new season yet, you will still be able to update your profile and account details if you wish (should you change email addresses etc).
Reality F1 will return for the 2017 season. The provisional date for the first race is the 26th March 2017. Approximately a month or so before the first race I'll email you to let you know that you can create your team for the coming season.
It only remains for me to thank you for playing Reality F1, I look forward to losing to you again in 2017.
