The rapidly approaching 2013 season
We've just 47 days until the lights go out in Australia and the 2013 F1 season is under-way.
The first of the 2013 challengers to be revealed is the Lotus E21. The car, on first inspection, doesn't appear to be a radical departure from the, albeit very successful, E20. Unfortunately the car retains the stepped nose (despite a change in the regulations allowing the fitting of a 'vanity' panel) and suggests that many of the cars will keep this look for the coming year.
Over the next few days more of the cars will be revealed including the McLaren on Thursday, Ferrari on Friday and Red Bull on Sunday. The first test of the season begins in Spain on Tuesday 5th February.
Reality F1 will return for the 2013 season and we hope to launch the game during mid-February. Following on from your feedback last year there are only a few changes to the game (you all seem to like it how it is) and the most important is how team changes will be recorded/counted during the season.
At the moment any change to one or more of your team's components at any point during the season is considered a single change - you have two free changes and then subsequent changes will cost you 50 championship points. For the 2013 season, we will only consider a team as having changed if that new combination of components contests a race. This means that, between races you can change your team as much as you want but, once we reach the race weekend, if your team is different to the one that contested the previous race then this will be counted as a change. We hope you think this change is a good one.
We will notify all players who played in 2012 once the new competition has launched. If you want to be notified but haven't played before then let me know.
